Cosmetic denervation is a procedure used to improve the appearance of worry lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and other so-called dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles occur when we smile, laugh, or frown and the delicate muscles underlying the skin contract. Botox® (botulinum toxin) weakens these muscles and the overlying skin will “smooth out” – lessening or even getting rid of these dynamic wrinkles. We inject a small amount of diluted botulinum toxin with a very fine, small needle in several locations of the muscles of the face. For most people the procedure is not painful.
